a. Attention Getter: It was an absolutely gorgeous spring day. The sun was out, the birds were chirping and there was a lazy warm wind pushing by. I was spending time with my grandparents as we knew that my grandpa didn’t have much time left. My grandpa who was ridden to a wheelchair wanted to spend what was left of this seemingly picturesque afternoon in the shade of the backyard. It was left to me to move him from his room which was three flights of stairs to the porch swing that was in the back. The task took me what I thought was an eternity and I was quite exhausted from the ordeal but we made it there unscathed. b. State Topic: This is one of the last memories I have before my jokester grandpa who meant so much to my family passed.
c. Main Points: Today I want to celebrate the lasting impact that he had on our family and talk about his love of golf and his faith.

Another tradition he started was taking all of the grandchildren to Valentino’s to eat for Valentine’s day. A really, heartfelt memory I will cherish forever is one special Valentine’s Day. Well one year I was sick and my grandpa felt so bad for me that he personally took me out to Valentino’s the next day for lunch so I wouldn’t feel left out.
