Commencement Argumentative Essay
Life is very short and should be cherished. You never know what is going to happen in life, so we have to take it day by day. Life is a beautiful thing that could get taken away at any moment. The good things in life make it worth living, and nothing should be taken for granted. In Steve Job’s Commencement Address he states “Because almost everything- all external, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure- these things just fall away in the face of death leaving only what is truly important.” In other words, when you die you have no worries, so when you are alive, live for the embarrassment, live with all the failure you have been through and have pride in what you have because nothing matters when you die. Steve Jobs has a point about …show more content…
I could not imagine how he felt or even how his family felt. He had to tell them about it, and he had said it was hard for him. He wanted to get it in his families heads so that it was not so hard for them to say goodbye in a few months. A miracle had later happened and his cancer was curable, he had surgery and was good to go, he was cancer free. He states, ‘And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s changes agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new.” Everyone knows they are going to die so get ready for it, we are not able to stop death, life is going to go on still which means have fun with life and enjoy every second. Knowing people were put in this earth to die hurts to say but it is the truth and there is no stopping it. Life is a beautiful thing and should be cherished, with no regrets. Everything is gone when you are gone so live life to the max while you can and be happy. Do not let anyone tell you how to live your life, this is your life and you decide what you do, where you go, and the type of people you hang out

The Fourth Amendment protects citizens from unreasonable searches and seizures; however, it does not guarantee against all searches and seizures if there is reasonable doubt. Searches are determined on two important interests. The first is the intrusion on the individual’s Fourth Amendment Rights; the second includes legitimate government interests such as national security. What constitutes a reasonable suspicion? Where must a public official draw the line? How should one address any “gray area” that might arise?…

Other people look at it as though tomorrow may never come, therefore you should do as much as you possibly can today. No one likes to admit it, but you all know that death can happen at any time. You never know when you will take your last breath. You should always tell your family and friends that you love them today, for tomorrow you may not be here to tell them or it may be that they are not here for you to tell them how much you love and care for them.…

As of November 20, 2014, same –sex marriage has been legalized in 35 out of 50 U.S. states. Same-sex marriage is a hot topic which the Supreme Court is considering to legalize. Many people say a homosexual person is a sinner. The question is do homosexual people choose his or her gender? They were born that way and they are happy with their lives. Homosexual people are nothing unlike heterosexual people. They are living, they are working, and they contribute to society. Proponents state that same-sex couples should have access to the same marriage benefits and public acknowledgment enjoyed by heterosexual couples and that prohibiting gay marriage is unconstitutional discrimination. On the other side, opponents argue that altering the traditional definition of marriage as between a man and a woman will further weaken a threatened institution and that legalizing gay marriage is a slippery downhill way that may lead to polygamous and interspecies marriages (gaymarriage.procon.org). All people in the world should understand the meaning of marriage, whether a same-sex marriage or a traditional marriage. For that reason, same-sex marriage should be considered as a legal marriage because it is an equal right for humankind and beneficial for society as well as preventing youth suicide.…

The prices of college tuition have increased yearly, and not much of an effort is put forth to try to lower the costs. For example, colleges in the state of Pennsylvania have a high tuition. Moravian College’s tuition is about $32,931, and after receipt of grants and scholarships for one year it will be $22,900. East Stroudsburg University’s tuition is about $6,240, and after receipt of grants and scholarships for one year it will be $12,500. I can barely afford Community College, and I know for a fact I wouldn’t be able to afford any of these colleges or universities either. In this essay, I will explain through facts and opinions, why the cost of college tuition should be lowered.…

One of the hardest things for humanity to get through is grief. It’s that heavy feeling of sorrow that sits upon our chests that kills the passion of our hearts and makes even a simple errand seem like an impossible ask. That is the hardest feeling to overcome, and the hardest situation to ignore. Happiness may only be achieved through the acceptance of the things you cannot change; without this you are stuck in the past. Yet in order to truly accept these happenings, you must be grateful for what you already have, which requires optimism. As Martha Washington said, “I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition.” [Martha Washington]. The way I see it, if you believe that your life is already wonderful, then it will be wonderful. People have more control over their lives than they might think, and all it takes to maintain such control is gratitude, optimism, and a strong will. Once you decide to appreciate your life, all you need is the will to remember why. If you go around knowing that you’ve got many reasons to be happy, then you’ll become a happier person.…

A mans legacy can affect people even after their death because if the mans legacy one lived without fear and was a successful one, It can affect the way people live before him which can affect their successfulness as well. Regardless, it is commendable that they are able to come to terms with something that scares us so deeply. In “The Good Short Life” Dudley Clendinen states “That is the weird blessing of Lou. There is no escape, and nothing much to do. It’s liberating” (Clendinen). End of life practices are not acknowledged many times because they are an anomalous notion for those who are young and healthy to grasp. For those who are never satisfied with life constantly in search of better experiences, opportunities, and relationships, deciding to willingly relinquish grasp of life is strange. However, for those who have lived a long life or for those suffering from a disease that has no significant treatment or cure there is greater awareness of an imminent promise of death. Since death is promised, and at an accelerated rate for the sick and elderly, it is best to enjoy life to the fullest and welcome it as “one of life’s greatest, most absorbing thrills and challenges” (Clendinen). Instead of enduring continuously deteriorating health and life quality in an attempt to hold on to a few poor months or years of life, many elderly people opt to respectfully bow out, enjoying “the good short…
