The open-minded student who is willing to develop new relevant ideas, integrate them with the course material and share them is performing at the “A” level. Writing skills that are of the highest caliber as evidenced by use of grammar, vocabulary, etc. Presentation skills that are of the highest caliber as evidenced by a high level of preparedness and use of audio-visual and technical support materials.
80-89 points=B Above average work, shows care and a very good understanding of all reading, class lectures and materials. 70-79 points=C Completes all assignments adequately, shows ability to reflect upon material presented in class. Class Assignment Summary and Calendar – All reading must be completed prior to each class meeting. The following schedule and a guide and will change depending on our rate of progress regarding mastery of the material and the nature of the group. For example, we may spend more time on interpersonal skills and less time on presentations.
Please email electronic (copies) using MS Word of all assignments prior to class. Typically, final drafts are due on the Friday evening after the class meeting.
March 5 Communicating at Work – Please bring two printed copies of your communications skills essay to class.(Homework assignment-observe communications skills of co-workers; take notes and report verbally on March 12) Plan to revise your essay and resubmit by March 8 via email.
March 12 Outline for term project – include a topic Sentence, trial thesis and abstract and include several scholarly sources. Your textbook can be a helpful source here.
