The characteristic of Community Care Center Plan
Precisely, even ‘care’ is written in Community Care Center, neither professional long-term care nor life care is offered by Community Care Center. Relatively, the elderly feel concerned is the core characteristic of Community Care Center, bases on the concerned feeling, encouraging the elderly out of their closed doors and mind, to participate in community-based club activities which offered by Centers.
Four official services, health promotion, food service, concern visits, and telephone greeting are defined in Community Care Center Plan. The food service is practiced by volunteers, too. The volunteers prepare light meals for the elderly who present the health promotion activities, and for the elderly who cannot or do not want to participate in the activities. Of course, other some volunteers to take the service of meals-on-wheels. The concern visiting is practice by volunteers, too. Volunteers are organized into groups and are assigned to greeting the elderly who cannot or do not want to participate in the activities in Centers. Volunteers provide a brief public service messages to the visited elderly, and refer to social workers in the case of elderly people with some welfare need. The telephone greeting provide for the elderly who unwilling to accept visits or who live too far away. Both concern visiting and telephone greeting are to increase social participation and social linkage for the elderly, especial the elderly who living
