Compare And Contrast Authoritarian And Democracy
There are many different types of governments around the world. They vary in many ways including who governs, how they come to the role, how much power they have and what role the average citizen plays in the government. Two of the types of governments that differ greatly are authoritarian and democracy.
An authoritarian government is a government by an individual or group small minority of powerful individuals that that maintain power thru force. The opinion of the average citizen is irrelevant to the authoritarian government. The authoritarian government can do whatever they please because they make their own rules. A ruler in this system will rule until choses to no longer rule as was the case with Fidel Castro in Cuba or they are removed

Life under an authoritarian government would be horrifically empty. An authoritarian government controls everything in your life. They control the information you see, the help you receive, where you can go, and even the food you eat. This restricts learning, growth, and the human spirit. In North Korea the citizens see Kim as a God. One blind woman wished to see him so badly she cried just thinking about it. The only photos in houses are that of the Kim, and children sing praise songs. Moreover, the people live in a relative black hole of information, they don’t have cell phones or internet. Some don’t know a man has walked on the moon. Furthermore, there is poor medicare, with bloodied operating tables, and beer bottles as IVs in some health…

An Autocratic leader is the one gives tasks and instructions but he expects other people to carry it out, when a leader uses this style, his workers need to clearly understand the instructions and what to do when the leader tells them, but the problem of this style can be that people might not like to ordered to do every task because they would likely to believe that the leader should help in different ways rather than just telling them what to do and leaving all the work to his members. The concept of autocracy is demonstrated even by country because there are several countries who rule as an autocratic monarchy aka an absolute monarchy, these countries include the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Brunei, Swaziland, Oman and also the Vatican even though the pope is traditionally elected by his cardinals.…

    1. Regarding theories of democracy, Pluralism is the establishment of a group with share ideas and concerns towards public policy. Consequently, these shared values contributes to an organized effort which is able to dominate smaller groups and contribute to a larger dispersed power. In addition, Pluralists are optimistic and have thoughts that the public interest is most necessary; therefore, these Pluralists make promises to the public to express their views. Notably, Elitism is a theory that explains the upper class controls the power instead of the government because they control assets such as stocks, property, and election funding which can pull strings at the government. Authoritarianism can be a favorable system of government because it is more efficient that even parliamentary democracy, and extremely stable when implemented correctly. Unfortunately this is a slippery slope: while the country has stability it needs to retain its stability, and the only way one can do that is by hampering free speech and free press. Once you start hampering free speech, one would want to control more and more of the public’s access to oppositional materials, and this eventually leads to abolishing habeas corpus and other things people take for granted. It is generally not healthy to do this, but it is one of the only ways to keep a stable regime.…
