There are many similarities and differences between life today and life in the past. But both of these two generations had schools to learn in and malls to shop at. No matter what, shopping and learning are one of the most significant human being rights.

Let's get started, back then, people had no internet connections or computers. So they had to go to the library to get more information. Unlike nowadays if we want to know something, we can know it in 5 minutes. Another difference between living now and in the past is that there were fewer schools and the quality of the education they provided was poorer. Beside that, it's much easier nowadays to find the educational materials that we probably need to thank the internet for that. When it comes to shopping, previously, shopping only occurred in malls and stores. Unlike nowadays, you can shop at your home by one click on your mouse. The internet has brought almost every single store in the world to the finger tips of anyone with internet access. Online shopping gives us the opportunity to shop 24/7 and rewards us with a 'no pollution' shopping.

There have always been challenges that a young adolescent must make to become an adult. Whether it was one hundred years ago, or today in this day and age, the challenges are ever so present. Unfortunately, the challenges faced back then were far more harsh and difficult for the young adults compared to the present. They lacked the technology, resources, and knowledge we now possess today. Most jobs one hundred years ago had to be physically done by people, not machines, which the 21st century seems to love. Although times are now different in the sense of materials and knowledge, the society and traditional structure of becoming an “adult” still stands; you get a job, you get married – you are an adult. Take travel, for instance. In the time of our forefathers, there were no railways or steamships or aeroplanes, no bicycles or motor-cars, or even no good roads. They traveled slowly on horseback or in carts and carriages, and sailing ships. There was no postal system, so letters were rare and costly luxuries; no telegraph, no telephone, no wireless or broadcasting. Nearly all goods were hand-made, as there was no steam-driven machinery to manufacture multitudes of cheap goods. Houses were lit by candles, for there was no electric light. There were no fully equipped hospitals, no trained nurses, but few qualified doctors. Most of the poor could neither read nor write, for education was the privilege of the rich. Books were few and expensive. As to amusements, there were no cinemas and no gramophones. Life in those days must have been dull and slow.…
