Matisse and Picasso are two of the most popular and powerful artists at the early 20th century. For some people they were rival in their styles. Being said, Matisse and Picasso’s works are to be highly considered when it comes to you to talk about modernism art. That is why somebody had to say that: along with Picasso's Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, Le bonheur de vivre is regarded as one of the pillars of early modernism. It is so because they are competitors, after the publication of le Bonheur de vivre. Picasso immediately began to work on his enormous “Les Demoiselles D’Avignon", writes Martha Lucy, associate curator at the Barnes Foundation. This painting has been finalized between October 1905 and March 190 (n.d.).
