The Differences Between Pokemon Games and Their Remade Games. Do you know why the pokemon franchise is one of the most popular games?
Pokemon games have gone through many changes through the years. The oldest pokemon game created was about five months after WWII ended in Japan. Nintendo has made games in the past, but many of their Pokemon games have been remade or changed depending on what year it came out. The original games were remade to have different storyline changes, graphics changes, new and game exclusive Pokemon. They were also remade to see if there was a different community reaction compared to the original game and if there was a difference in sales. The games that this paper is showing that were remade are Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire,Ruby and Sapphire, Diamond and Pearl, Platinum.
Ruby and Sapphire was released to the world in the year 2003, and the remastered versions Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire was released in the year 2014. With only two years between these two games, the redesign included many changes to Platinum which enhance play to this game (“Pokemon Platinum”). Looking at the sales difference Diamond and Pearl sold a total of 5,096,770 units compared to Platinum’s 2,230,765 units sold. The community's reaction to Platinum was lukewarm because most of the community had already played Diamond and Pearl. However, people who were new to DS games felt Platinum was the game to purchase.
