Nintendo has been around since the late 80s and has brought us many heroes, but none of them will ever seem to surpass the main heroes/protagonist from the Legend of Zelda and Mario Bros. franchises. These were some of the first games I ever played back when I had a regular Nintendo. Then the adventures continued on with super Nintendo, Gameboy, Nintendo 64, game cube and so on. Now granted that these are amazing games, but they are quite similar in the ways of there is damsels in distress but differentiate in the way they go about saving their damsels.

Now even though these games are quite similar in storyline, they are hugely different from one another. In most of the Mario Bros. games, Mario has finally been upgraded to use weapons other than stomping and knocking enemies off a block. He can now throw them, hit them with things, and can now acquire weapons. Whereas, Link has always had the option of having weapons and without them you can simply just not win. Also the character development has changed a lot as well. Before Mario would go through these green tubes and was able to hold his breathe endlessly while swimming at sea and Link would have to go from one place, then to another and always a in a set of 3 or 4 and then repeat all over again. Mario is far more broadly accessible than the other because of its lightheartedness and learning curve. Zelda is a more fantasy and whimsical franchise. But the biggest difference in the games is that Mario Bros. is actually named after the main hero, whereas The Legend of Zelda is named after the princess and after a decade people started to realize the main characters name is
