The government should represent the people. The government should be based on the people, there should be consent of the people: so called “virtual” representation. You do not need a vote so there is no democratic process involved. You do not need to be there and you do not need an official representative. You are nevertheless being represented by the government (royalty) and therefore obligated to obey and follow instructions. As long as the representatives of the nations agree everything is in order and “ok”, and that is the mix among the rule of one (the monarch), the few (aristocracy) and many (a merely representative parliament and the House of Commons). The house of common is constituted…

In 1776 the United States declared its independence from the tyrannical British Empire and has been growing as a nation ever since then. The first constitution that the United States developed as a united country was the Articles of Confederation, which failed horribly. But learning from the mistakes made in the Articles of Confederation the brilliant minds of early America drafted the Constitution, a document that still governs the states to this day with only being amended 27 times. In order to be this successful it was written very broadly with a lot of room for interpretation because every problem couldn’t be addressed. One problem that the Founding Fathers made sure to address was popular sovereignty, in fear of another tyrannical king. The Constitution ensured popular sovereignty with regulations on term limits, the bill of rights and the separation of powers.…

The name of our government is The Royales seeing it went along with our type of government so well. We decided a Constitutional Monarchy would be the ideal government. The problems we have with our government can be solved by listening to the people. A problem we see with it is that to obtain certain positions you do have to be of royal blood to be King or Queen or to be in the House of Lords. This government seems to be for a smaller country/district, along with that we would definitely have to figure out how much we would actually be taxing to cover things such as healthcare and education. Once the taxes situation would be worked out we feel as though a Constitutional Monarchy would be a great choice to have as a government.…

Keeping the monarchy in a democratic society, is the same as using a quill in a school filled with pencils. Despite an immense amount of progress involving the Canadian government, there is an extensive problem disturbing the system. The constitutional monarchy puts a figurehead as the highest position and representative of our Country. As stated in the constitution, our Queen’s power is entrusted to the Prime Minister and other elected figures, which makes the democracy overpower the monarchy (“The Monarchy of Canada 4). Along with going against the regulations that are placed over the other members of the government, royalty prevents growth, new ideas and denies the citizen’s power to choice their own leader.…

The Framers of the Constitution believed a direct democracy would lead to people following the popular opinion instead of the common good for the nation.…

The Unites States of America is the oldest democracy in the world. The constitutional democracy has worked for more than two centuries. The constitution was formed in a time of need for some of the people. In May of 1787 delegates attended a meeting in Philadelphia “ to establish a national government powerful enough to prevent the young nation from dissolving but not so powerful that it would crush individual liberty” (Magleby,Light,Nemacheck 36). In the creation of the U.S constitution there were three famous compromises that most of the delegates were in agreement on. The first one was “ the compromise between large and small states over representation in congress” (Magleby,Light,Nemacheck 38). The…
