Egypt and India had many similarities in their civilizations. Firstly, both River Valleys were invaded. Egypt was invaded by the Hyksos when they crossed the Sinai Peninsula to infiltrate the Egyptian empire. The Hyksos ruled over Egypt with their superior weapons and chariots which helped conquer Egypt. India on the other hand, was invaded by the Indo-Aryans through the Khyber Pass in the Hindu Kush Mountains. They were nomadic, trying to find more resources. Transportation was a key factor for both civilizations which was used for trading. Trading was one of the main ways that River Valleys got their resources. Another use for the rivers was the use of irrigation. Irrigation was the control of water, which helped provide fertile soil, which lead to farming. In Egypt, the soil was so rich, they called it the “Black Land” where the soil was. In India, fertile soil was useful for growing crops.
