Hoover vs Roosevelt
Hoover wanted everyone to help each other and if they couldn’t than he said he would step in and help. Roosevelt wanted the government to pay and help everyone instead of everyone trying to help each other. Hoover wanted local charities like the red cross to get involved, Hoover said “the red cross have refused to accept federal appropriations as not being consonant either with the need or the character of their organization” (hanes and hanes 10-11). Hoover said that the americans have always helped each other thats why its always been either having charities help the people out or your neighbors would help each other.
