When we compare, we show our readers a subject's similarities. When we contrast, we show our readers a subject's differences. We will be using this guide to outline our compare and contrast essay. Be sure and pay attention to the hints along the way to help you complete the information. The better this guide is filled out, the easier it will be to complete your essay.

Format of Compare & Contrast Essay (four paragraphs) 1. First paragraph – Introduction paragraph. Give your audience your thesis 2. Second paragraph – Contrast the differences between your tall tale heroes 3. Third paragraph – Compare the similarities between your tall tale heroes 4. Fourth paragraph – Conclusion paragraph. Land the plane..don’t crash it.
