renaissance and medieval art has is the art types. Both, medieval and renaissance, made sculptures and painting. They also both had famous paints such as “David” from the renaissance, and “Geri Crucifix” from the medieval times. Another similarity are the characteristics of the two arts. One difference is the types of art that they have. The medieval art is 2-dimensional painting which means that It didn't show lifelike features. Renaissance art, on the other hand, showed perspective and made people, places, and things, seem lifelike. Another difference for the type of art was that in the medieval art, the background colors mostly showed the colors gold and blue. Renaissance art didn't focus on specific colors but depth. Another difference between medieval and renaissance art was the characteristics of art. In medieval art, the figures were showed in 2-D, while renaissance figures were shown in 3-D. The last difference is the reason or purpose for art. During the medieval times art was used to show religion, but the renaissance art was used to show the importance in not only religion, but nature and people. Also, in medieval art people would look stiff with no movement, for renaissance art showed people and objects in motion. See, there are many differences, not just
similarities. There are many differences and similarities when comparing medieval and Renaissance art. They have their similarities such as the Art types, characteristics, and materials. They also have their differences such as types of art, the purpose for art, and the characteristics. Don't quickly assume that just because the pieces of art from the medieval time period and Renaissance period look the same or look different, that it's automatically a one way street. There always a two way road.
