I would want to see Martin Luther King speech in Montgomery Alabama. I’ve heard it was one of his greatest speeches ever and trademark in American culture during the civil rights period. The fact, which he stood up and gave his outlook on society, which was a positive one throughout all the negativity shows how great a man he was, during this time. Martin Luther King was the one who address the civil right for African American and helped the cause the acts being passed during that time such as, the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and the Civil Rights Act in 1968. the workforce illegal according to http://www.ourdocuments.gov/doc.php?flash=true&doc=97. The Civil Rights Act of 1968 also called the Fair Housing Act prohibited discrimination and protected families from sales, rental, financiering and advertising on housing. In 1988 it was amended and prohibited discrimination based sex, religion, race, color, disability, family status and national origin according to http://www.britannica.com/topic/Fair-Housing-Act. I believe that Martin Luther helped the development of these acts to happen sooner than later.
Now, with Malcom X he had a little bit different approach as he was affiliated with the Nation of Islam.
His focus on the black community was fine but, his approach was sometimes inappropriate. He later realized the negative impact the Nation of Islam was having on him and started his own organization were he turn more toward equality for black rather than dominance. He helped black people in ways that many others didn’t. He influence black people to embrace their heritage. He help black maintain their self of identity. He influence the world and sparked many movements for minorities of all color and ethnicity. “In the past, yes I have made sweeping indictment of all white people. I never will be guilty of that again- as I know that some white people are truly sincere. That some are truly capable of being brotherly towards a black man.” This was a sign of his willingness to work together with white people and move towards a better
society.
Both, were great in their own right. I would love to meet both of them. They spoke up for black people and minorities for equal rights. They influence society as a whole and that led to better things to come for Americans of different races. I could only imagine the extraordinary things they would’ve accomplish if they had a chance at full life.
This time period is so significant an American history is one of the main reasons I would want to witness it. I would to see the courage it took to stand up for what you thought was right. I would want to see the confidence it took to speak on behalf of your people. I just think it is amazing to have men who will fight for what they believe in, no matter what. “Life most persistent question is. What are you doing for others.”
