In the beginning you see both Odysseus and Ulysses journeying to get to their wives. Both Odysseus and Ulysses had similar situations. They both journeying home from places they did not want to be. On their journeys home they both had men with them. Both going home to get to their wives. On the other hand is one difference in this part. They both have a wife and kids at home. Their wives names are some what similar, both starting with Pen. But they do have their differences. Odysseus’s wife, Penelope, waits for Odysseus to return home from war. Penelope doesn’t ever want to believe that Odysseus won’t return home. Together they have a boy, Telemachus. Telemachus has never met his father. Therefore, he doesn’t recognize him when he returns home. Ulysses’s wife, Penny, doesn’t wait for husband to come home. Instead she decides to marry a suitor. Penny had told every body, even their kids, that her husband had gotten hit by a train. Together they have 7 kids. When Ulysses does return home his kids do recognize
