The Japanese Footbridge and Water Lily Pool was designed very different from the previous painting. It is painted in a way where it looks like a sanctuary you would dream about. Since this painting is inspired by impressionism style, focusing on the beauty of the painting through colors and brightness. The brush strokes seem deeper where if you touched the painting it would have bumps on it. Also, it is painted where it's like a vivid image of the scenery. For example, the leaves on the trees are painted in a way where you can only see an outline of the leaves bunched up together. Another example is the water, where the water is reflective but the water lilies look scratched on in a way.

1. Meindert Hobbema was mentored by his uncle to paint with the baroque and landscape movement, so Meindert focused on capturing the image of Dutch landscapes.
