Most of the characters are the same in both stories. In both the movie and the book, you still have characters like Hannah, Rivka, Shmuel, Fayge, Esther, a baby, lots of kids and adults, and the Natzi army people. Do you really know what went on during the holocaust well Jane Yolen wrote a special book about how life was like in the concentration camps which later turned into a movie. There are many similarities and differences between the two stories Night and Devil's Arithmetic. First I will give some background information on the two stories. Night is a story about a boy named Eliezer and his father who are sent to Auschwitz, a concentration camp in Poland. Devil's Arithmetic is a story about a girl, Hannah who does not care about her heritage but then dreams of a time in a concentration camp where she learns a lesson she will never forget. My two similarities are the journey for Eliezer from Night and Hannah Stem from Devil's Arithmetic to the concentration camp from their homes are the same, and the equivalence of the Hannah and Rivka meeting and Eliezer and the French girl meeting. My difference is that Eliezer is sure of himself and his religion and Hannah is not sure of herself at all.…
