Comparing The Wolf And The Black Knight
The Wolf and the Black Knight Long, long ago where armour was worn, and swords were drawn. There was a man in black and a man in white. The man known as the Black Knight, stood over six feet tall, wielding a sword even bigger than himself. He was alone and had no company. Enjoying his own company. Enjoyed violence and often indulged such gruesome events. The man in white, known as The Wolf was a polar opposite, he was skinny, pale and wielded a silver rapier. He had his own pack of loyal soldiers, fought for power and a future for him and his pack. As for the black knight, he fought as a mercenary for reward in order to survive the world as he explored endlessly.

There was one day the man in black had encountered three individuals upon their horses. Considered enemies. Knowing the knight, he sought violence yet again, and charged. He was eventually pinned and soon the Wolf had arrived. The knight had realized who he has really encountered. “From now on. You will be mine.” The Wolf had said to the Black Knight. The knight resisted, but in mere seconds the Wolf had pierced the very center of his chest like a wolf lunging itself towards its prey ever so lightly, and thus, the knight slowly lost his consciousness.

Hours passed and the knight had woken up in a tent.

Without the battle prowess of the Black Knight they were quickly slaughtered by the King’s loyal knights, and the Wolf was captured and sent to the dungeon. The few soldiers that survived the failed attack sought for the Black Knight. Weeks had passed when they heard of a man wielding a giant sword who drifted from town to town challenging the strongest fighters. They knew that this was the man they were looking for. After finding the Black Knight, they told him everything that had happened. He was greatly concerned and knew what he had to do

Purpose: To determine relative oxidizing and reducing strengths of a series of metals and ions. Oxidation and reduction reaction occur simultaneously side by side. A reduction reaction occurs only if an oxidation reaction occurs and vise-versa. Electrons are given in oxidation while in reduction electrons are gained. Oxidizing agent is a chemical substance which has a large tendency to gain electrons, while reducing agent is a chemical substance causes other substances to be reduced and itself oxidized. Procedure: For this lab was used metals and substances provided in the lab oxidation-reduction pack, and some extra materials. Using the well-plate and the correct amount of drops and the right metal on the right well, to see the reaction with each different substance. Observations: This experiment required some time and patience to analyze the results. For each well required a different substance and a different metal to be inserted in the well. Different metals react faster or slower depending the substance they are added. Na2SO3 with magnesium  bubbles appeared around the magnesium piece and we could predict a reaction. MgSO4 with zinc  No reaction observed Zn (NO3)2 with lead and aluminum  No reaction observed FeCl3 with lead and aluminum  reacts with foil, the piece dissolves in the solution and the lead piece seems to be oxidizing. CuSO4 with iron  the screw seems to be oxidized quickly; it changes the color of it to a pinkish tone.…

After looking at his purposes on what he was trying to do, it is the time to discuss Beowulf’s “supernatural hero” character and in what aspects he was considered the “superman” of the time. The first sign of his heroic character comes from his name, Beowulf. “Beo” gives the impression of a strong, large, fearless animal--bear--while at the same time “wulf” sounds like a ferocious and wild wolf. Beowulf’s physical appearance, in which he had a towering height and stature, also convinced others that he was actually an “above-human” character and hero. Furthermore, Beowulf had a mysterious and “un-heroic” background, which he foretold as a youth. He was poorly regarded by the Geats and was taken by them for less than he was worth. Thus, endurance and perseverance also took part on his heroic character. Like the typical hero, Beowulf gave boasts. While in Hrothgar’s kingdom, Beowulf defended himself against the kin-killer…

    Osmosis Lab Report

INTRODUCTION: In order to fully understand the concept of this experiment, one must first be introduced to diffusion. Diffusion is a spontaneous process by which molecule particles move from one area that is highly concentrated to another area in which its concentration is lower. Cells contain fluids and are surrounded by fluids; in order for a cell to function it is required to be in a balanced state. The progress in which a cell is in its balanced state is called equilibrium. Diffusion is a functioning way for cells to reach their equilibrium. Equilibrium is reached by controlling what enters and exits the cell through a cell membrane that selectively filters molecules by slowing down their movement, allowing them to pass through, or not allowing them to pass through the membrane. Diffusion and osmosis go hand-in-hand. Osmosis is generally the same as diffusion, however, deals solely with water. Osmotic pressure is the pressure of a solution against a semi-permeable membrane to prevent water from flowing into the membrane. In this lab, we are going to study tonicity; tonicity is the measure of this osmotic pressure and is the differential of pressure between two solutions separated by a selective membrane. To help identify the relative concentrations of solute particles of different solutions, we must understand that there are three possible differences in concentrations between a cell and its environment. The terms hypotonic, hypertonic, and isotonic are used in referring to the identification of the possible relative concentrations. The first term, hypotonic, is the solution that contains lower concentrations of solute particles, which means that the concentration inside the cell is greater than the concentration outside. A hypotonic solution causes the cell to swell in size. The second term, hypertonic, is the solution that contains higher concentration of solute…
