There are many problems in the world. Each country has its own political and economical problems no matter how it is developed. Also there are issues that affects entire world, like global warming, “doomsday”, economical crisis and etc. Nowadays different governments start to pay their attention on another problem – people’s health because country cannot be without people. There are some big differences in medical problems between developed and developing country such as England and Kazakhstan.
The only same thing is the health problems; there are the same in both countries. For example, diseases related to air pollution. Poor air quality is linked to respiratory illness, heart disease and asthma, conditions which can dramatically lower life expectancy. Air pollution is a trigger for asthma. This type of asthma is known as "occupational asthma," as it is a result of working in a …show more content…
particularly contaminated area. The majority of the KZ population resides in areas around or near industrial centers because of the job opportunities offered in these areas. About 1/3 of these enterprises have no sanitary zones meeting size standards. Air pollution is a contributor to lung cancer, particularly in people who grew up in areas with significant air pollution. Accumulation of small particles from the air in the lungs can lead to cancerous growth, and air pollution has been determined to raise the risk of lung cancer as much as second-hand smoke. Britain's filthy air kills 50,000 people a compared with fewer than 2,000 deaths a year from road accidents. My hometown - Almaty - is in the list of 20 most polluted cities in the world on ninth place.
Another big problem is high obesity rate. In the UK an estimated 60.8 per cent of adults and 31.1 per cent of children are overweight. 26.2% of the male population in England to say to be clinically obese according to the latest Obesity, Physical Activity and Diet report published today by the National Health Service (NHS). Obesity has been increasing, not only for men, but for women too. In Kazakhstan, one in two women suffers from obesity. According to national studies, in 2006 in Kazakhstan and 11.4% of children less than 5 years of age were overweight or obese, which are most often encountered in Aktobe and Kyzylorda, and nearly half as frequent in Zhambyl and North Kazakhstan regions. In 2008, one in two women (50.6%) and male (45.4%) were obese and overweight at the age of 25-60 years. Of those overweight were 29% of women and 34.4% of men, obesity-21, 6% of women and 11% men.
Then main difference is medical system. Medical services are free for everyone, for each citizen whereas people in KZ need to pay a big amount of money for only one visit.
People in UK are sure about doctor’s proficiency most of the time.
In KZ not the all doctors are so good and well-skilled. In UK future doctors should study for about 11 years, when Kazakhstanian medical students study for 7 years. If UK students go on specialty, profession, they take 14 years while KZ students – 11 years, it is because in UK students take pre-medical course where they are introduced to general material. In Kazakhstan medical education system does not have such courses so students need to learn and understand enormous new material very fast in order not to be late from the program. Moreover, material in UK medical institutes is new and according to the latest researches whereas KZ universities study based on Soviet Union system. There was one accident in KZ local hospital. One woman came to visit a doctor because she felt sick and her belly swollen. Doctors said that it is the stomach cancer. She was upset and decided to go to UK for another doctor’s opinion. It turned out that she was just pregnant and nothing
else.
There is a difficult situation with the equipment in KZ. The newest equipment is very-very expensive. In normal state hospitals it is not available or even it is in default so people need to spend their money of expensive clinics to be cured. Some of people cannot afford it so they simply stay uncured and live with complications and die because of it.
All in all, there are more differences than similarities. KZ medical system need to change the sooner the better. There are more minuses in our system that I found after this essay.
