And Gandalf slitted the rock and turned the trolls into stone. Then, they found the trolls’ hole and gathered up some weapons. Gandalf gave a sword to Bilbo to protect himself. On the other hand, Radagast the Brown noticed that the Necromancer is back and filled the world with darkness. He told Gandalf and suddenly a bunch of Wargs came and attacked the dwarves, they escaped and found a way to Rivendell to seek refuge from the elves. Thorin and his team went on, that night they stayed in a cave at the mountain path and captured by goblins. Bilbo fell into the trench while fighting with the goblins. When Bilbo woke up, he saw a ring in which gollum fell when he ate the goblin. Bilbo put his ring into his pocket and played a riddle game with gollum while Gandalf killed the Great Goblin and escaped the tunnel. Bilbo eventually escaped by putting his ring on . But then the dwarves encountered orcs and Wargs, Thorin went down from the tree and fight with the pale orc. At the end, the eagles saved Bilbo and his teammates. At the movie, Bilbo get in the Lonely Mountain and awaken Smaug, the dragon. Smaug was very angry when he realized that Thorin intended to steal his treasure. He sprouted flames all over the place. Although they both told that Gandalf saved the dwarves by slitting the rock and turned the trolls into stone, yet the movie didn’t mention how Bilbo find the key and even the hole that needs the key to unlock it. Radagast the Brown didn’t mention quite much in the book, he didn’t help the dwarves nor he even had been friends with Gandalf. The Necromancer was only mention a bit at the end of the book where Bilbo returned to his home. The founding of Rivendell didn’t happen when they got chased by Wargs, it just appeared while the company walked. Also, the Wargs didn’t fight them so many times. The book said that the Wargs only fight with the dwarves after escaping from the goblin tunnel. At the mountain pass, Bilbo and his teammates hide in the cave because of the stone giants, which are mentioned in both book and movie. In the morning, they were captured by goblins, and Dori dropped Bilbo and he fell down to where gollum lived, not fell because of a fight. In both, it mentions that Bilbo played riddles with gollum and eventually escaped by putting his ring on. But after Bilbo was “out of frying pan”, he encountered the Wargs, which believed to be “the fire”. But the book didn’t mention anything about the pale orc. Futhermore, it was Gandalf who wanted to jump down and fight the Wargs, not Thorin in the movie. Bilbo was sent to retrieve the Arkenstone in both
