Comparisons Between The Movie 'The Giver'

In the book, “The Giver” there are many changes between the book and the movie. Some examples are how Fiona and Jonas have a stronger liking in the movie, or how Asher has a different job compared to the movie. The Givers annex (house) is located on the edge of town in the movie. In the movie everyone that is “special” has a birthmark instead of pale eyes. So as you can see the movie is very different than the book. The first difference I really noticed is that Jonas and his friends are much older in the movie. In the book Jonas becomes a 12 and in the movie Jonas becomes a 18. They also get their jobs when they turn 18 and not when they turn 12. As the movie starts you see Jonas and you can see that he is much older than they described
