Competency Goal To Stay Healthy And Fit
In order to keep healthy and fit for the rest of my days, I believe I have to achieve and maintain four different objectives. The first is to stay active and exercise regularly. To do so I will continue walking every weekday morning for a minimum of two miles, will either workout or jog on Saturday’s, and participate in my daily soccer practice/games (high school exclusive). The second objective is to eat well. In order to complete this task I will maintain a healthy and balanced diet, as needed for everyone, especially those (such as myself) that take part in daily exercise and fitness related events. Thirdly, good sleep is a very important part of staying healthy. This task will be completed with my commitment to a steady sleep schedule, ensuring at least seven to eight hours of sleep (with occasional exceptions depending on order of priorities) a night. Lastly, in order to stay healthy and fit I believe one must have a positive attitude and state of mind. Luckily this one comes naturally to me so all I have to do is maintain my …show more content…
I believe that thirty minutes is too little and people should be doing moderate exercise for forty five minutes to an hour six days a week. Luckily for me this goal is very easy to achieve since I have many public resources around my community, for example; the bike trails located all throughout the neighborhoods, the gym located inside of the local recreational center, the two outdoor public swimming pools, the two public soccer fields, the basketball courts at almost every park in Dublin, the volleyball courts found in some parks around my neighborhood, the tennis courts found plentifully amongst my neighborhood, the ice skating rink, sports centers (i.e. Sports Ohio, Field Sports, etc.), the local sports teams, the tracks located at middle and high schools,
