Competitive Advantages
Competitive advantage and strategies are important for companies to understand and utilize. Competitive advantage allows a company to stay ahead of its competition. Strategy on the other hand allows a company to have a plan for success. According to the article “Winning strategy for business, Response books”, “Strategy comes to be defined in every company with two independent and simultaneous processes” (Gorapaj, 2010, p.334). In order for Napster to see success and longevity in the online music distribution arena, an S.W.O.T analysis must be formed to analyze the company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Napster’s strengths are its wide selection of music, its brand name, and its convenience. Napster’s weaknesses are its pricing and its inability to differentiate. Napster’s opportunities are the decline of illegal peer to peer file sharing and the market growth. Napster’s threats are its competition with ITunes and its inability to offer a faster download bandwidth. An S.W.O.T analysis will help Napster figure out how to first overcome its competition, guarantee its longevity and acquire and retain its customers. In order for Napster to develop a competitive advantage, it must increase its music library and create a companion device such as IPod. Napster must also seek out partnerships with major companies. Napster will need to attract new customers by providing a 30 day free trial for its service and the monthly subscription will need to be lowered in order to gain a competitive advantage.

    1. Customer Loyalty: Customers must be committed to buying merchandise and services from a particular retailer. This can be accomplished through retail branding, positioning, and loyalty programs. A loyalty program is like a "Target card. " Now, when the customer uses the card as a credit card, Target can track all of their transactions and store it in their data warehouse, which keeps track of the customer's needs and wants outside of Target. This will entice Target to offer products that they do not have in stock. Target tracks all sales done on their cards. So, Target can track customers who use their card at other retailers and compete by providing that merchandise as well.…

A comprehensive understanding of the periodontal tissues that surround and support the dentition is essential to achieving success with any restorative case. Crown lengthening is a surgical procedure performed by a dentist where bone is resected around a tooth to expose a greater height of tooth structure. Based on where the anticipated restoration margins are to be placed, the dentist aims to expose enough tooth structure circumferentially to facilitate restoration. There are many instances in which crown lengthening can be used as part of a comprehensive treatment approach.…

“The more often we see things around us - even beautiful and wonderful things- the more they become invisible to us. That is why we often take things for granted, the beauty of this world; the flowers, the trees, the birds , the clouds , the sun, even those we love. Because we see things so often, we see them less and less.” Said Joseph B. Wirthlin an American businessman and religious leader. This issue of not taking things for granted seems to be a common theme throughout the 3 books, “Z for Zachariah” by Robert C. O'brien,” Ponies” by Kij Johnson, and “All Summer In a Day” by Ray Bradbury. These books show how important it is to have value in the things around you because you never know when they can be taken away.…
