Complete five tables, covering the areas set out below, showing the sequence and rate of development for children and young people from birth to 19 years. You should produce separate tables for each area of development below.

Physical Development

|0 – 3 years |It is within this stage of a child’s life that the fastest physical development occurs. When |
| |they are first born babies have little control over their bodies. This rapidly develops and |
| |within the first year of their life they start to crawl or shuffle around and feed themselves. |
| |The process remains fast during the second year of their life where most children will start to|
| |walk, play on objects, climb, point to objects, and dress themselves. Within their third year |
| |children will move around with more confidence, feed themselves in a more controlled way and |
| |have the ability to use equipment such as tricycles and other toys. |
|3 – 7 years |During this stage of a child’s life they will show greater control over the movements they |
| |developed during the previous stage. This is evident when they are drawing, coloring and |
| |cutting out. They also become more confident when throwing and kicking for example they will be|
| |able to control the aim of where they wish an item to go. |
|7 – 12 years |Throughout these years children will refine some of the skills they have learnt in the other |
| |stages in their lives. They will like some things more than others and will
