Assignment # 2 – Comprehensive Case: “Muffler Magic”

Read the “Muffler Magic” case and write a four-to-five (4-5) page report that answers the following:
1. Specify three (3) recommendations about the functions of recruiting, selection, and training that you think Ron Brown should be addressing with his HR manager now.
2. Write three (3) questions for a structured interview form that Ron Brown’s service center managers can use to interview experienced technicians. (Note: do not list possible answers.)
3. Explain why, if you were Ron Brown, you would or would not implement the professor’s recommendation to start paying for sick days.
4. Recommend and explain your reasons why Ron Brown should or should not implement the professor’s skill-based pay plan in its present form.
5. Recommend and explain your reasons why Ron Brown should or should not implement the professor’s incentive pay plan in its present form.
The format of the report is to be as follows: o Typed, double spaced, Times New Roman font (size 12), one inch margins on all sides, APA format. o Type the question followed by your answer to the question. o In addition to the four-to-five (4-5) pages required, a title page is to be included. The title page is to contain the title of the assignment, your name, the instructor’s name, the course title, and the date.
NOTE: You will be graded on the quality of your answers, the logic/organization of the report, your language skills, and your writing skills.
The assignment will be graded using the following rubric:

• Analyze various techniques, considerations, and designs of employee compensation programs.
• Use technology and information resources to research issues in human resource management.
