Does anyone have a hard time choosing what career or job which they really want to do in the future? I personally have two jobs that I am considering right now: actuary and physical therapist. Actuaries basically manage risk. They help organizations plan for the future and protect themselves from loss. Physical therapists use a variety of techniques to improve mobility, relieve pain and prevent permanent physical disabilities in their patients. The reason why I am choosing between these two jobs is very much related to my past experience. Since my youth, I was influenced by my elder sister who is very good in mathematics. Due to her influence, I have a big interest in mathematics. I wish my future job will be related to mathematics, which is why I considered becoming an actuary. In addition, I love to watch dramas that are related to medical education. In fact, I just finished watching a Hong Kong drama named ‘On Call 36 Hours’. It is a medical drama. After watching that drama, I have the desire to help those injured patients to recover from pains and injuries. Although many might think these two jobs are very different, they have very much in common.…

    Lawyer Actuary Essay

“What’s your ideal job?” If I were asked the question I guess my answer would be lawyer/ actuary. As we all know, actuary and lawyer are usually the cores of a giant company. Many people would assume they are unrelated. Indeed, what they are in charge of is unrelated. Lawyers usually deal with external affairs such as law cases, while actuaries deal with internal affairs like investment valuation. However, as I was pretty interested in both jobs, I looked closely at them and I found a lot of similarities between them, which are the salary, qualification, and ways of working as well as their prestige.…

I came to this conclusion after examining the tasks, work environments, and job outlooks of a physical therapist and an actuary. Physical therapy would suit me more because I would love to pursue a career that allows me to work with people, not be isolated to an office, and will be needed greatly in the future. By becoming a physical therapist, I can live out my life and work at a position that will not need escaping…

The opinion of “Actuaries do actuarial work, actuarial work is done by actuaries” (Akhurst, 1992) had been committed by financial security systems, because the understanding of financial and mathematical skills was unique to actuaries and they were respected as more technician than a financial manager. Actuaries did not need to work as group, and they were usually authorized directly from the boss, so that the skill of communication was not strongly needed. Comparing with accountants, the minimum requirements of completing licenses are totally distinct. Having the undergraduate degree in math or actuarial science is basic demand of being an actuary. They need at least two successful examination in actuary to start their first experience in a company. As long as the students meet the requirements,…
