Concert Paper One
By definition, music refers to an art whose medium is sound and silence. On the other hand, art refers to a skill, being able to do something in a way that the majority will appreciate. It is acquired through knowledge and talent too. In this context therefore, I am going to give insights on various aspects of music giving major attention to classical music as the major point of interest and its due application in real life concert I attended. Classical music is specific to its origin and major target group just as any other music. It is a form of music which is westernized in its traditional considerations and encompasses a broad period. It is mainly distinguished from other forms of music in its way of staff notation which has been consistent since its existence. The main considerations of the mentioned staff notations are speed, pitch and meter of the singer or performer to the audience as this is aimed at capturing the attention of the audience while ensuring that the fun in the music lasts a considerable time not only for the concert alone but also for the future of the artist in the business as this at times acts as their fixed or quit basis. The concert in question was a performance by Jill Scott and Anthony Hamilton at the Verizon. It is worth to note that Jill Scott is an American with different music credentials ranging from R&B singer, songwriter, poet, actress and American soul music (Wikipedia). Due to her expertise she has appeared in various performances in both music and acting. If to mention, she won various awards including the Grammy awards in her music career which shows that she is a great force to reckon with in the industry.
