Consequences of teen pregnancy From our later consequences we suffer future consequences. Though the percentile has lowered some in the past ten years, it is still a huge problem today. Not all schools teach sex ed. Only 69% of districts have a policy to teach sex ed in their Teen pregnancy is a major concern in today's society; there are many ways that it is harmful to the teen, the baby may grow to be unhealthy; and furthermore, this can disorient the mental state of the mother. schools. the lack of knowledge that they have can send the students mixed messages. Many students are unaware of the effects of being sexualy active. Some schools only teach of being abstinent. studies have shown that the teaching of abstinence does not delay young adults from having sex. Which then leaves the teen unaware of how to use condoms to protect themselves because they were never taught. The debate on whether to have sex ed in schools or not could cause grief to many. Some teachers are comfortable to hand out condoms and others say it is against what they believe in. Multiple district boards have fought to end sex ed, unaware of how it could be harmful to their students rather than helpful. Teen pregnancy doesnt affect only the body but also the mind. The self esteem of a young girl is destroyed as people taunt her. She becomes insecure with her body making her feel uncomfortable to be around others. This is a period of time where she would need the most support, but instead they leave her alone out of anger. This causes the teen to feel unwanted. Making it seem as though she has no purpose of being here or bringing a new child into the world. A conclusion in some pregnant teens minds can be suicide and they have chosen that action before. With this emotional crises that is affecting the teen it can affect the baby. A mother a can self abort the baby without choice. The decisions that can be made not always be the best for
