Conservation and Preservation Check Pt Week 2 Sci275
Conservation and Preservation check pt

Conservation is the sustainable use of natural resources including wildlife, water, air, and earth deposits. Some of these natural resources may be renewable or non-renewable. The conservation of renewable resources like trees involves making sure that we are not using more than what we are able to replace. The conservation of non-renewable resources like fossil fuels involves ensuring that we are only using them when we need to.
Preservation is maintaining the earth keeping it in its original condition. Some areas of the Earth are, so far, untouched by humans. This is due to the concern that mankind is encroaching onto the environment at such a rate that many untamed landscapes are being given over to farming, industry, housing, tourism and other human developments, and that we our losing too much of what is 'natural'.
I, personally, do not think that humans should harvest forest resources. I think that they should leave the forests along. I say this because we are driving our wildlife out of their natural habitats and some are dying as a result of this. I think that the forests should be left at their natural resources and we should not use it to benefit our way of life. I think that we should come up with an alternative to some of the resources we are using from the forest to benefit our lifestyle.
I am on the side of preservation. I think that things should be left as natural as possible. That was the way it was before mankind, and the wildlife was not threatened in any

Conservation is the use and exploitation of the land in a sustainable way, or one might say to manage. Preservation is the protection of the land that limits use, in order to maintain a pristine condition or to protect. After my research, I do believe that humans can actually harvest forest resources in an environmentally friendly way. Does that mean we should? In my opinion, I think that each situation is different, based on the use of the land and what the condition of the land is that is trying to be used. In the case of the Bridger Teton National forest, I do feel that it should be left in its natural state. For so many years this land has been untouched, untamed and undiscovered. To take land of this nature for drilling, building roads and pipelines are not worth it. To the people of Wyoming it is more valuable than what you can get out of it from oil and gas. New technology should allow other ways to give us freedom for foreign oil. I really thought it was odd that the politicians were already calling “Management Area 71” which does not scream environmentally friendly.…

Over time the ecosystem and biomes have evolved changed in some form or fashion that will leave us in difference from this particular time now. It’s important to have something to be able to look back on for information and or instructions on how to change things that we as human may make a mistake and mess up.…

The preservation movement was started by John Muir. The “preservation movement” involves the protection of nature and historic values such as buildings, objects, and landscapes from humans. Preservationist like Muir believes that the value of the land is not what you can use from it, but the land itself as it exists. The authors of the sources sought to eliminate humans impact altogether by presenting to everyone that it is irrational and unthoughtful to cut down trees and prevent natural resources from accomplishing specific purposes in certain environments. In my opinion, the authors were also trying to express the lack of care and appreciation for the nation’s natural resources that humans provide by using…

    5. A natural resource occurs naturally within environments that exist relatively undisturbed by humanity; in a natural form; anything that people can use which comes from nature; we gather them from nature. Conservation is the practice of protecting plants or animals, and their habitats. These plants and animals may be very close to extinction. North America experienced a big loss of megafauna at the end of the Pleistocene era (about 13 000 years ago). This started a program known as “Pleistocene re-wilding”. Re-wilding involves the reintroduction of extant species into areas where they became extinct in the past. This program aims to restore the evolutionary and ecological potential that North America lost all those ago, and in the process, prevent the extinction of the megafauna in Africa and Asia. This caused many opinions about North American re-wilding to form. The two main papers that will be discussed are Donlan et al, 2005 and Rubenstein et al, 2006. Both of these papers express different opinions.…

Endangered species have more right not to be killed than members of other species, endangered species whose numbers are so small that the species is at risk of extinction. Once the endangered animals are gone they won't come back. They are an important role in wildlife, if we take them out the whole system will be disrupted if some animals start to become extinct they could ruin the food chain and sometimes affect us or other creatures. If people kill too many mice, foxes get less food to eat, and there would be way too many bugs biting people, and there wouldn't be enough plants for all the bugs. Every animal has a purpose in this world if it is killed it won’t be able to fulfil its purpose and will ruin the dynamic of things.…

This report is being wrote to give some reasoning on why wildlife conservation matters and is important. The meaning of conservation is the protection, preservation, management, or restoration of wildlife and of natural resources such as forests, soil, and water (The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 2000). Human efforts are to prevent the loss of present populations using different techniques such as controls on hunting, importation of non-native species and pollution. Wildlife conservation is important and is not to be mixed up with preservation, preservation suggests wildlife should be left alone with no contact from humans whereas conservation will use human involvement to restore habitats for example.…
