Conservative Definition Essay
When it comes to all of these choices, I would define myself as a conservative. I think this for two reasons. For starters, I believe in personal responsibility and a free pursuit of a person's goal the issue believes the role of government should be to provide people the freedom necessary to pursue their own goals. This belief should be followed due to the fact that if everyone follows one point of view, the world would be a communist country. This can go for people like artists. For some parts of the world, they think that artists are just people who are too lazy to get a professional career such as if the earth didn’t have art, the world would just be too average and

Conservatism is defined to be “a set of political beliefs that include a limited role for the national government in helping individuals and in the economic affairs of the nation, as well as support for traditional values and lifestyles” (Sidlow & Henschen, 2016). During the 1950s and 1960s, conservatives emerged in opposition to Roosevelt’s New Deal. Conservatives are found on the right wing of the political spectrum, so they are in favor of limited government intervention, the free enterprise system, individual liberties, and retaining their traditional American values and beliefs. In today’s society, the population is divided between Democrats and Republicans based on their preferences. Both political parties utilize mass media to express and promote those opinions to the general audience.…

Terrorism has taken part of all of our lives. At least once a week, some type of terrorism has happened or tried. President Obama discussed how he took cautious views on fighting terrorism and Isis. Mr. Obama is reluctant to having more Americans die fighting at war with terrorism. Although, it's also understandable to just want to end the war completely. This is the Republicans argument. Republicans would just like to send troops to fight the war in the Middle-East ending once and for all. In order to the long awaited war, it takes more resources, like machinery, weapons, money, and troops. Republicans also feel the situation we're in now, it's vital to demolish any chance of Iran having nuclear weapons for protection of America and the rest…

It’s more than just a word and its meaning is much stronger than you might think. Tradition is everything we live on our everyday basis. We don’t think about it, but we encounter tradition in almost everything we do. It’s how we were taught and it is how our children will be taught by us in the future. We need to understand that tradition makes us who we are and what we do. It is the root of our lives. It is the way of living……

(John, 2014) Conservatives are ideologically defined by their strict adherence to traditional values and practices as well as their support for little to no governmental regulation and their emphasis on individual citizens taking personal responsibility. Liberals are alternatively defined by their belief that the government should be active in the regulation of the people in order to protect the citizens from the possibility of unequal and discriminatory actions. (Rosalee & Zoe, p134) Liberals are also recognized by their beliefs in the overall equality of citizens, protection of liberties and progressive thinking that is based on the idea that there is overall an essential goodness to the mass populous. While there are vast differences between these opposing sides, it is possible to see how a person may agree with a conservative view of government while simultaneously believing in the humanist attributes of the liberal…

The terms liberal and conservative are used more than others in academia, political conversations, and by the media. However, it is doubtful that many people have a clear understanding of what each label represents and the differences they signify. It is difficult to pickup an editorial page of any newspaper without reading about the in-fighting of conservatives and liberals in either the house of representatives or the senate or other political groups due to the fact that these terms are often used improperly. It is crucial that the interested student and concerned individuals are able to define them and recognize when they are properly and improperly used.Whatever the differences in the “left” and the “right” accepting change and involving…

I believe that I fall under liberal on the political spectrum. I have very liberal beliefs and I have very progressive ideas and think the government should be more involved in people's lives. For example I believe that the government should be doing a much better job at protecting the earth and implement more laws to save the earth from global warming. Another very important issue that I believe the government is not doing enough to prevent is racism and sexism in America. Both these issues are prevalent in America and I believe that the government needs to do more to address these issues. Since Donald trump has become president I believe sexism, racism, and global warming issues have taken a backseat, to other less important issues. Conservatives…
