Martin luther king jr. had several amazing accomplishments in his day, one of which is the Nobel Peace Prize. What is the Nobel Peace Prize? It is one of five awards given to the paramount person in certain categories; literature, medicine, chemistry, physics, and peace. The prize started with a man named Alfred Nobel; Alfred, who led an impressive life, and invented dynamite, left a large sum of money in an account dedicated to these prizes. Alfred Nobel's will read that the Peace Prize was to be awarded by a council of five people chosen by the Norwegian Parliament, and should go to the person who accomplished "the most or the best work for fraternity among nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the promotion of peace congresses."
The life of Alfred Nobel began October, 21, 1833 in Stockholm, Germany. Nobel was born to his parents Immanuel and Andriette Nobel. Immanuel Nobel was somewhat of a brainiac as was his son. Immanuel accomplished building a machine shop that manufactured land mines, closely related to his sons amazing discovery of dynamite. Fondéries & Atéliers Mécaniques Nobel & Fils (the name of the company) supplied the Nobel family with better life then they had previously endured, however they were not rich. The Nobels lived in a small wooden house, and invested greatly in their children education. A Russian teacher by the name of Ivan Peterov Taught them math, physics, and chemistry. Lars Santesson taught them history, philosophy, and gave the Nobel children a broad view of the world, which is saying a lot for the mid nineteenth century.
