We all know that with all the different types of consumers’ products out there, the convenience product is bought and used more often. A convenience product is one of the consumer product that customers usually buy on a regular basis, immediately and without great comparison. It appeals to a very large market segment.

And there are a few things as beloved in the United States as French fries and ketchup, a combination that has engraved itself so deeply in the American diet. American love their fast food and for this reason, menu items need to be portable and easy to eat on the go. French fries and ketchup are one of the biggest sellers, but also one of the biggest messes customers make while eating it. The existing French fries package at many fast food restaurants such as McDonald’s, Burger King, Five Guys, Wendy, Jack in the Box, Sonic etc. requires customers to find a space on their tray to squeeze the ketchup. I realized many customers must find a space on their tray to squeeze the ketchup. This created a mess, and made them feel unhygienic and uncomfortable.
• Customers getting their food to go could not hold their French fries and dip it into the ketchup at the same time while they are walking.
• Drive through customers were faced with the same dilemma, how were they going to get their fries wet with some delicious ketchup without creating a mess?
• Customers in the car realized that every time they let their ketchup sit on their lap and dashboard, it would soak through the napkin. They do not like the ketchup stains on their pants, or the awful smell of sticky ketchup in their car.
• Fast food workers on quick lunch break or customers in a hurry would drizzle ketchup across all the fries in the carton and then periodically keep digging their fingers in the fries. The problem is they inevitably got ketchup all over their fingers. They would end up having sticky fingers and do not have time for that, or carrying around wet wipes.
