The mould is cleaned up with a dust pan and brush when mould is spilt around the area/room.

The spillages are wiped/ cleaned up when the children are sat down for their lunch.

Spillages must be cleaned/wiped up immediately after the spillage happening to avoid anyone slipping because of it.

Children tripping and falling over toys
Toys are put away towards the end of the day just a little before the children start to get ready to go home.

Toys should be picked up and tidied up after the children have finished playing with them or children should be asked to tidy up after themselves to avoid any risk.

Children banging their head onto the corner of the tables in the room
Staff tell children off if they run around areas with table corners and they try to stop them.

Low tables should be placed against walls rather than in the middle of the room so that the risk of children falling over and banging their heads onto the corners is minimised.

Staff would take objects out of children’s hands if they saw them trying to put the object into their mouth.
