Introduction
1.1 Background of Study Conversation analysis is the study of talk in interactions generally attempts to describe the orderliness, structure and sequential patterns of interaction, whether this is institutional or casual conversation in the daily life. Conversation analysis studies the underlying organization of conversations: how the turns at talk are shaped, how speakers are oriented towards both other utterances, and the surrounding context. The kind of talk is likely to differ according to different contexts of interaction,the structure of the talk,the basic pattern of “I speak-you speak-I speak-you speak”, will derive from that fundamental kind of interaction we acquire first and use most often (Yule: 1996). Film is widely known as one of subject in the modern art,from the film people can introduce or know many things that do not exist in their community or in their era of life,such as philosophy, art , social science, cultural theory, psychology, literary, linguistics, economics, and political science,etc.Film also can describe or show of human feelings such as pain,love,bereave,sad,happy,angry,emotion,etc. Love story can be most of theme and general topic which showing in the film, and many love story film becomes a favorite of audiences.
Conversational analysis theory show also in the film,because film is arranged in the script which contain of conversation and interaction between two or more humans as people know by dialogue.
The writer interest to analyze conversation which appear in a love story film entitled “500 days of summer” . The good tracklist of the film make the writer interest to take the film as the source of data for this paper than another love story film. The script of the film was written by Scott Neustadter
