Not having air conditioning on a really hot, humid summer day can not only be uncomfortable, but for elderly individuals, it can be deadly as well. If your elderly parents live with you, and your air conditioning is broken, you need to make sure that your parents stay cool and hydrated. Your elderly parents will not be able to handle the heat as well as you can. Here are a few ways to keep your elderly parents cool until your air conditioning is up and running again.

Keep Your Windows Clothes During The Day

If your parents don’t like water, mix it up with some lemonade, ice tea and juice.

Finally, make sure that your parents eat. This will help them keep up their strength. Try to serve them food that has lots of water in them, such as watermelons and cantaloupe, along with a more filling entrée.

Keep your windows and curtains closed and a fan running in whatever room your parents will be in during the day.
