Currently, in Coquitlam, there are overarching needs for improvement in public education and sustainable local job market. According to the census tract Canada(2011), there are only four public secondary schools in Coquitlam while there are approximately 25,000 teenage residents. Additionally, only 25.3% of residents are employed within the city. These pose serious sociological risks in various ways.
