Coral's Character Analysis: You Pays Him Away

Coral is one of the character in the play begin as a woman who is going through the trauma of her's son death. She became a different person and always mourn for her son. In the play Coral expresses her resentment towards her husband by saying "You sent him away", this quote reveal more of Coral's inside story and her pain. It also emphasis the idea of her husband being responsible for her's son death. The quote is also a metaphor for Australia sending young men to war and ruining their bright future. During her stay at the Gold Coast, Coral tried her best to be normal, however it's hard as she keep remembering her son when she sees other young men.
