Corruption In The Film Serprico

In the movie Serprico, this police officer Frank Serprico must take on the entire New York Police Department. He started off in a big family who owned a little shop in New York City. Frank wanted to make a difference so he decided to become a police officer. He worked his way up the ranks in his department hoping that one day he would make detective. His story made history and still holds true to this day. But, he discovered the corruption within his own department and he refused to join them by taking bribes. Serprico tried his best to avoid his fellow corrupt officers transferring but kept ending up where he started. He dedicated his entire life to his career trying to make a difference to be threatened with murder by people who he thought
were his friends. This is a tragedy because no matter what he did he could not change the corruption around him. If it wasn't for him getting shot in the line of duty his story on NYC police corruption would have never made it to trial and that is a tragedy within itself.
