Abstract
Every organization develops a mission statement to inform the public the beliefs and standards the organization holds in conducting business. This paper will research the mission statement of Costco.
The Mission Statement of Costco Wholesale:
"Costco 's mission is to continually provide our members with quality goods and services at the lowest possible prices. In order to achieve our mission we will conduct our business with the following Code of Ethics in mind:
Obey the law
Take care of our members
Take care of our employees
Respect our vendors

There are different items that can be sold individually and there are items that can only be sold in bulk. Certain states ban smoking in public areas; having the cheap Costco hotdogs follow different food safety laws. Is the health board license for a restaurant, food vendor or warehouse?
Costco lists “take care of our employees” in their mission statement; which shows they view their employees as an asset. Costco is one of the few corporations around who actually do care about their employees and show them appreciation; not just for the cameras. Costco has long term, happy and loyal employees because they feel as if they are part of the organization and helping grow into a bright and profitable future.
Joe Carcello has a great job. I would love to get and HRM job with Costco; they are a company I could be proud to call myself an employee of Costco. Moving up in the organization can be a bit slow; because employees love the organization so much they don’t want to leave or retire. I would have to move because there isn’t a Costco close to my residence. If I got the chance to work in the HR offices of Costco I wouldn’t hesitate to jump on the
