Pythagoras invented the octave scale, that's very important for music. Enough about the history let us delve into my realm of music. My absolute favorite music is Metal and rap music.
There are many types of metal music.
The types of metal I listen to are; Thrash metal, Death metal, Nu metal, Melodic metal, Rap metal, Alternative metal, and sometimes Christian metal. All of the other types are way too dark and devilish for my tastes. I draw the line at slipknot. That is the darkest I go. If you have listened to them before you probably think, how much darker can you go? Trust me it can get a lot darker. I'm not going to get into details on how much darker you can go, because i'll probably get kicked out of school. The one thing that irritates me the most is, not all metal is dark and brutal. Not all bands worship satan. I know crazy right? Killswitch-engaged and Bullet for my valentine are bands that write about life and emotions. Not pentagrams or sacrifices to the devil. The music they write is like poetry. Sometimes about love, other times about sadness. Just like any other music out there. The reason why I like metal is because I grew up on the classic metal bands. Like Metallica and Megadeth. My dad was and is a huge Metallica fan. So when you grow up around that it stays with you forever. In middle I started to expand my music. I found the nu metal and melodic metal groups. Metal that my generation listens to. Middle school was rough for me. Metal helped me get through alive. It expanded my mind and gave me some hope. Not all metal is bad. Another thing, if you can't understand what they are saying, you must be deaf. I can understand them perfectly fine. I am not going to name my favorite bands because there are too many to
list.
My other favorite type of music is rap. My freshman year of highschool was great. I did a lot of partying and hanging out with new people. The “ gangsta” kids . They listened to the new rap music. I was always with them. I became really close with one of them. He even lived with us for awhile. We were always chillin and listening to rap. We made a lot of memories. That's also when I started messing up in school. It wasn't the music that made me do it. I did it, it was my fault. The music made me feel like not caring. It's just music, but I was going through another rough patch. I decided to not care, and that's what landed me here. I still listen to rap. Everyday in fact. It is a part of me now, just like metal. Rap is just like another form of poetry. With a mixture of rap and metal in my life, that's why I was able to write a poem in five minutes. I am a diverse human being and it shows through the music I listen to.
