Crazy I Run Poem
Just like a Star across my Sky
A Bird—flying at dawn
Just like a Picture—in my head
A Dream of the last night

No matter how I desire for—
Is just an Empty Dream
No matter how Crazy I Run—
I remain—at same place

Look back at the dark pasts and times—
Times with laughter and tears
Farwell to the old memories
Step forward—to the dream

I have a Long way to go—
Have to Run through the Way
I hope Tomorrow will be—
Different from Yesterday

The Sun rises in the Dark
Like how You will do too—
Just take a Break to Run On
Never—give up for You

I think the film is a study of inevitability, or in other words, fate. Regardless of how Lola obtains the money or how she gets there, some things were just inevitable i.e. the car crash. I also think it’s a testament to love. Love is what compelled Lola to put herself in the situation in the first place. Overall it was a love story, a twisted one, but a love story nonetheless.…

John: Run Lola Run directed by Tom Tykwer, is an intense, fast paced action film with implications about fate, love, chance, time, choice, and consequence. Not a second in this movie is boring, as it is as high paced as the title implies, whilst being both physically and mentally straining. At the beginning of Run Lola Run, two quotes are shown; one about time and the other is a philosophical statement about what a game is. These two statements viewed together arises an idea and an important concept of the movie that life is like a game. Tykwer conveys this concept in the film through the themes of love, time and chance. Run Lola run is different to ordinary films, it is not something you would go see in the cinemas it is unique, unusual and incorporates animation creating the sense that life is a game. The water tower written by Gary Crew and illustrated by Steven Woolman is also not your typical children’s book; there is something unusual and unique about this text due to its page layout switching from portrait to landscape conveying disorientation within the text and also through its sense of mystery and the unknown while also having to draw to your own conclusion to the story creating engagement with the reader also leaving them wanting more. Both of these texts demonstrate distinctively visual techniques to portray distinctive experiences.…

Achilles is classic literatures' greatest characters ever engraved on paper. Achilles, son of Peleus, King of Myrmidons, and Thetis, sea nymph, comes to Troy as part of a Greek force led by King Agamemnon. Unlike most protagonists, Achilles does not develop significantly over the course of the epic. As the story unravels Achilles wrath for Agamemnon intensifies, but only after the death of Patroclus does he redirect his rage towards Hector. Achilles' bloodlust, wrath, and pride continue to consume him. As a result he mercilessly mauls his opponents and does not relent in this brutality until the last book when King Priam begs for the return of his son's desecrated corpse. Achilles embodies the characteristics…

In life it’s better to die then to live another day as a lunatic in the poem “I felt a Funeral, in my Brain,” by Emily Dickinson the speaker seems to be having a mental breakdown, but as the reader we see it through imagery and metaphors the imagery is the funeral that the speaker is having inside their head, and in a way the speaker is also seems to be suffering because she cannot get a sense of reality. Dickinson use many metaphors in the poem to give insight of the state of what’s going on inside the speakers head. It seems almost as they where suffering because they are living after all Dickinson is known, for her lugubrious piece of writing.…

McDougall used logos, the persuasive appeal to the reader’s sense of reason and logic. He provided research studies and statistics to support his argument that running companies were the cause to running injuries, not the “cure-all” they advertised. “In a 2008 research paper for the British Journal of Sports Medicine, Dr. Craig Richards, a researcher at the University of Newcastle in Australia, revealed that there are no evidence-based studies-not one- that demonstrate that running shoes make you less prone to injury” (McDougall 121). Studies linked Achilles, knee, and feet injuries to the creation of the athletic shoes developed by Nike. With clear awareness of the excoriating pain and soreness the shoes were causing to athletes, Nike continued to be the dominating sales brand in the sports-wear market. “Part of a Nike rep’s job is getting feedback from its sponsored runners about which shoes they prefer, but that was proving difficult at the moment because the Stanford runners all seemed to prefer… nothing” (McDougall 169).…

In the article “Crazy Love’’ by Steven Pinker he describes the effects love has on us as human beings, and the way people look for certain spouses. Pinker argues that ever since the beginning of time love as driven humans to make decisions they would not normally make. Love evokes feelings not only of happiness, but sorrow and anger as well. Pinker then begins to explain how humans find a mate, and what they look for in the opposite sex. He explores two different approaches in find a mate: looking for someone who fits mold and meets the criteria for an ideal spouse, or someone who evokes the countless feelings associated with being in love. Pinker’s conception is something that I personally agree with. As people today so many people think they know love but are actually confused by lust, not personalities, or think they’re in love because obsessions.…

Have you ever had that happen to you? Well that’s happened to me. I was a good kid, popular, and as the girls would put it hot. Well now I can’t talk to girls or let’s just say any one for that fact. My parent named me Phillip, but now I go by James. The person that made me run into that wall 400 years ago made me vow that I could not talk to girls for the rest on my existence. He died nearly 130 years ago and I’m still afraid to break the promise. You see I can’t go swimming if I do I will die. Nobody knows this not even my enemy Dexter. You see what he made me was a monster or what he would call it the new breed of humans’ Hydro sapiens witch is bender of water. I have had to defend this city many times and it is always because of Dexter. He can be so mean at times and be so nice at the same time I think he might have bipolar disease. He is the same thing as me but still we can’t get along. I’m going to tell you a story of how I defeated Dexter once.…
