The family is the basic unit of society. Through the family, a child is brought forth in this world; under the family, a child learns and develops values; and because of the family, a child appreciates the gift of life given by God.
The school as the second home of the students, and the teachers as their surrogate parents - are of great help in molding and honing the intellect, values, and skills that are necessary for a student to possess.
I believe that all of you, beloved parents and guardians, have your own way of raising your children, and you aim only what is best for them. “Creative Parenting”, as the focus of our gathering today, will be well discussed to you by our honorable resource speakers to add something more about what you already know regarding what the exciting life of a parent ought to be.
In behalf of the entire family of the Divine Light High School, I would like to express our warmest heartfelt for entrusting to us your precious children. May we still work hand-in-hand in cultivating the hope of our nation.
Before I end this speech, I would like to leave you a simple yet striking parenting line by Elizabeth Stone. She said, “Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.”
Thank you very much and God bless us
