Creative Writing: Alien Kitten
Two black kittens are talking, near their food and water bowls. They are quite friendly, and rather hungry. Seeing his fellow cat, kitten 1 informs him “I’ll be coming to your home.” His friend replies “We’ll be having kitten food there.” Happily, Kitten 1 exclaims “Kitten food! Yeah!” Kitten 2 needs to know: “Which brand do you like?” He gets a clear answer: “I like the chicken brand.” Something new is happening! A bright green kitten walks onto the scene. This Alien Kitten announces “I came from this space asteroid and I like kitten food, too.” Kitten 1 asks him “Are you a Martian kitten?”. The new kitten replies, “Yes, I am a Martian kitten. After I was born, I moved to the asteroid.”. Kitten 2 needs to know “Do you eat mice?”.

As Fin walked along the street the leaves of the oak trees shone like patches of blue velvet, but when he stopped still nothing shimmered. The waves refused to move. The glow of the city still seeped into the morning sky, forever. He felt he must be dreaming, and yet he was sure he wasn't dreaming because everything felt so real. Surely his brain was not powerful enough to create such a masterful illusion. Or was it? He felt his head imploding just trying to figure it…

Ah summer 93'. My older brother and I were getting home from a Grateful Dead show. That's me wearing the t-shirt turban. I had just finished being the bottom half of a human totem pole somewhere between a stoned man's greased dungarees and a roach littered general admission mud pit. You can tell I was feeling good about it. Some say smoking that many blunts out in the open as a five year old could have serious repercussions for my irresponsible copulaters back home, but if my parents taught me anything it was to say, "fuck the man." The kid next to me, who looks like the whimsical creature in basketball shorts that Jordan sang about in Space Jam, is my bro, Andrew. That shit eating grin on his face is because he just dumped a baggy of crushed…

Lila was going into different worlds, just exploring. She arrived on this plain, red place. There was no life, it was hot. Lila took her backpack off and she reached for the zipper. She pulled out her phone, left her bag on the ground and walked away. There was a martian who was green, and had an underbite. Lila took some pics of him and she went back for bag, but it was gone! Lila was frantically searching for her bag. “I am pretty sure I left my backpack right here, I promise I did.” Lila started mumbling. “My bag is silver, it has sparkles all over it, and it has a keychain on one of the zippers.
