In the grand scheme of our lives today, historical evidence is essential for the world to move forward.. The Voyager Space Program was a program that discovered the outer planets for the first time, and this program encountered many of the astronomical wonders of the outer planets today. But originally, the project scientist Ed Stone (former director of Caltech) did not know how to use the special alignment planets that occurs every 167 years. If he had no value for originality he would put in billions of more dollars for just rocket fuel, but as a project scientist and a former director of caltech he cooked up an idea. This idea was the most revolutionizing and groundbreaking …show more content…
feat of originality, and this was using the planetary motion’s gravity to slingshot the probe to the next planet. The project was a success because of the use of new and original ideas.
Similarly in the literature originality is vital to help resolve the plot and conflict. The book “Eragon” describe how the protagonist, Eragon , and his dragon Saphira use creativity and originality to defeat the shade Durza. As the battle was raging on Eragon (the warrior who had been training for only 2 months!) was assigned a feat that no one else could accomplish and that was defeating Durza. During their one sided battle, when Eragon was about to lose, he used his human brain to take out the shade in a very creative and original way. He conjured a spell so that the shade could recall on his bad memories , and so that he could have an opening to shred his heart. This represents how Eragon is not a normal warrior, because all the normal warriors only know how to fight using hand to hand combat, but Eragon used his originality to defeat the shade. This shows how authors and literature writers realize how important originality is to resolve the plot.
Additionally, in current events originality is necessary for scientists and engineers to create new and revolutionizing inventions and ideas. A current event that represents originality is the the programming of stem cells. This phenomenal discovery was done because the labs in the USA were struggling with to create new human tissue. Scientists were working around the clock so that they could create new organic tissue, but came to the same empty conclusion of failure. Finally, researchers thought out of the box and they tried to create new stem cells, but while everyone else were glued to the idea artificial arms, legs, and body organs are the key to create new organic tissue. After extensive research, the creation of new stem cells were the key to creating human organs ,and the programming of stem cells is one of the most major discoveries in the twentieth century. This shows how even today people use originality and creativity to make the most innovative discoveries.
The above clearly establishes that creativity and originality are not overrated, but they are a vital part in our lives, history, current events, and literature.
The examples above prove how originality helps everyone, such as scientists making a discovery, some probes stumbling on wonders of the universe , or the completion of an impossible task. All these examples have one uniting factor and that is the use of originality to help others and people around them to live a prosperous life. In conclusion, originality is not overrated , but it is very neccesary for us homosapiens to continue to evolve and become better using originality and creativity to make more discoveries and help revolutionize the
world.
