criminology which I find so fascinating. This career chose is one that I have thought numerous days about and decided on. To prepare for this career, I have taken numerous classes at Florida State University to get ready and to inform me for what exactly this subject is about. I take a lot of time choosing which classes to take, based on which I the most interesting not just the ones that are available. I think it is important to enjoy what you are learning about especially if you are trying to spend the rest of your life doing it. I fight tooth and nail to get into the classes that I want. Even though I sometimes in the past have struggled with my grades, it only encouraged me to work harder in the next ones to do better. Even though I struggled my freshman year with adjusting to college and a move from Colorado all at once, it hasn’t stopped me from trying to fix it every day I attend class. Before I leave Florida State, I want to complete all the courses that I enjoy, and I am also interested in doing an internship to get my foot in the door of forensic sciences or at least criminology fields. If I could complete those two goals I would feel confident going into the real world and looking for a job. Ideally, I would like a career being a forensic analysist for crime scenes in a big city.
I would like to be able to work my way up and eventually head up the forensic department in a police precinct. That is my ultimate goal, and I truly hope to strive to obtain it. The criminology and psychology programs at this school will help me to reach my goal because they are giving me knowledge and insight to the things that I find interesting about the career, like why people think the way they do and how the justice system works. With these two programs I think I will be adequately educated to pursue a career in this
field.
