Traditional clothes includes colorful and are usually handmade dresses from calico cloth. Calico is striped looks like a plaid. Also scarfs are carefully wrapped around the head to keep their hair in place. A “tam” is an important part of the attire it covers the dreadlocks. Tourists are particularly interested in Rastafarian-influence clothes that generally include red, green, and gold. Jamaicans everyday wear are comfortable and cool. On Sunday many people that go to church dress very formal. By using the aromatic spices found in the Caribbean it has allowed the island to create one of the most unusual flavors. Jerk is most popular, it's a marinade that is is usually put on meat but can be added to almost anything. Many of the island’s ingredients makes the spicy sauce. Also seafood is prevalent on the island. The morning meal includes boiled bananas or sauteed callaloo with Saal fish. Followed by a light meal for lunch which includes fried dumplings or plantains. Many different religions that are not known globally in Jamaica. When the author says ”Jamaican has developed a unique type of religion.” Obeah, Jamaican revivalism, Rastafarianism are the three main religions that people know about. The most recognizable is Rastafarianism. This religion has deep political discussions. The lifestyle of a Rastafarian includes some of the following marijuana used, hair in dreadlocks. They also don't believe in an afterlife. It's a spiritual movement that was started in the depression era. Obeah is a herb and spiritual religion. Jamaican revivalism practiced in more major U.S cities. The Guinness Book of World Records ruled that Jamaica has the most churches per square mile of any place in the world. When a death happening, family and the community gather at the house of the deceased to support and help in funeral preparations, which includes washing the body.
