The world average PDI index is 55, Poland scored 68 compared to America’s 40. This is more so accepted in the Polish culture rather than forced, though very close to the average these results are part of the communist ideology over the past decades proclaiming equality amongst them in social aspects but there is a large differentiation of society in terms of income and business opportunities. Through capitalism the Poland has experienced in the last few decades, it has made for huge potential for common ground and the development of organizational structure, and motivation systems within organizations. This trend has much to do with the food preparations with high-fat and sugar ingredients. This is a difficult obstacle for those of the German background as food has become a well known characteristic of the German culture. Overeating is quite common, and it is even customary to reward children with food for exhibiting good behavior (Purnell & Paulanka, 2008). These factors as well as the tendency to prepare generous amounts of food increases health risks. Similarly, food served in the Polish culture is high in carbohydrates, sodium, and saturated fats. Many of today's Halloween traditions are associated with America, however they originated in Celtic history. For example the custom of 'trick or treat' originated in England as ‘Mischief Night' when children declared one ‘lawless night' of unpunished pranks (usually May Day eve or Halloween). In the late 19thC, the Irish belief that 'the little people' or fairies played pranks on Halloween, led boys and young men to carry out practical jokes on that night, Nowadays children dress up in costumes and go from door to door where they knock on the door, or ring the doorbell, and yell 'Trick or treat!'. The idea being that the owners of the house give the children a treat (sweets or money) or the children will play a trick on them - I believe that in legal terminology this is called extortion!…

A few years ago, children learned from an early age how to cook for themselves and even for several people, on different occasions. Those kids were able to take care of themselves and of their house when their parents were away. Most of the nowadays teenagers don’t even know how to turn on the stove. The reason for this is the multitude of fast-foods that have appeared on almost every street in the large cities. This junk food is accessible for children when going to and coming from school, and ,akes parents’ lives easier as they do not have to waste time cooking for an entire family. But, although this type of food may seem delicious, attractive and cheap, it is the most unhealthy food and should be eaten as the ultimate solution when starving. Its aftermaths will soon appear and we will see how more and more kids are becoming overweight. This issue has already been noticed in the United States; however, it seems that this will not prevent other countries, including Romania, from bringing in and promoting the American junk food, following the same path. All over the world, people are becoming addicted to McDonald’s and KFC, both American enterprises, but also to other fast-foods.…
