I believe that many people are special in their own way and for me I believe that my culture makes me feel special. Most of the time being Native American at school makes me feel different because there aren’t many people that I know that are Native American who live in the city. Another part that I feel is special about me is that I love to do art, when I do art it makes me feel special about myself because I am creating something with my own hands and many people are impressed by my work. I feel like I have to guard myself from many different stereotypes towards Native Americans because it doesn’t feel good when somebody assumes something about you based on your culture or race. If nobody is socially aware of differences then everybody would be the same. Race, culture and social groups help us separate from others so that we can all have something special and different about ourselves and others. Being different from others may sometimes seem hard at first but once you start to embrace it, it can take you to unexpected places that no one would imagine. Again someone who isn’t socially aware of differences will become ignorant because they don’t know anything and refuse to accept
