Culturally Competent Care: A Case Study
Culturally competent care includes knowledge, attitudes and skills that support caring for people in across different languages and culture. Being aware of your patients’ ethnicity allows you to better understand how their culture influences their behavior. This is extremely important to plan and provide the best care for your patients.

One situation that comes to my mind that still leaves me baffled, a patient I had the pleasure of meeting while I was in nursing school. This woman was diagnosed with a rare breast cancer that had been in the 4th stage. Her approach to treatment was something I never actually physically encountered, she was being treated holistically.
